New XFR owner - Couple of questions to the forum group

My 2 Cents
See my response below.
Good day everyone,
1) I'm currently averaging 17l/100km (13.2 MPG) fuel consumption and I'm being very careful.. considering 80% urban / 20% highway is this in the norm?
My mileage is down more now in the winter due to the extra additive that is put in our fuel here in NJ. The % of ethanol and the additive shrinks my mileage all the time in the winter on all my cars.
2) I've noticed some rust (big chunk) on the driver door in the lower front corner, I took it to my dealership and it will be fixed this under warranty. My question is has anyone had rust issues on the XF/XFR? I live in Canada and they do put salt on the roads but I'm expecting for a car like a Jaguar not to have rust issues after 2 years.. could this be a known problem with Jaguar's in general?
The only rust I spot on XF Jags is all in the same place. I spot it in both outside corners were the tailights meet the quarter panel, it is very small but I have seen this on 6 XF's so far.
3) This one is very strange.. Sometimes when I get out of the car I hear 2 beeps following a 1 sec silence then 2 beeps again following a 1 sec silence, this sequence can happen 2 or 3 times in a row or only once.
At night it will start doing it when the car is parked on the driveway. I noticed that it does it more when the car is dirty or has snow/ice on it. When I get it cleaned the problem disappears for a couple of days. I brought it to the dealership and they have never seen this.. If someone has any idea what could be happening please let me know so I can bring this info to the Jaguar dealership.
Could be an issue with the smart key and 1 of the cars multiple antenna's reading the key is in the car still or to close to lock/unlock the doors etc?
thanks,
Gab

More ethanol does lower fuel economy, by quite a bit. Gasoline has much more energy per unit volume than ethanol. Also, longer cold running of the engine and the tendency for tires to be softer than they should be eat up fuel. Unless you are eagle eyed about increasing air content as temperatures drop this tire pressure issue will waste a lot of fuel. You must add 1 psi to measured air pressure at the temperature in your garage for each 10 degrees F lower that you expect the outside temperature to be, in order to maintain correct pressure. Driving through snow or on wet roads also kills fuel economy.

Just got my baby back from the dealer and wanted to give some updates on the issues
1) Fuel consumption high
Dealer cleaned the injectors but everything else seems normal, I'll see if this helps with the next couple of fill-ups
2) Rust on the front bottom driver door
Dealer took some photos and sent them to Jaguar Canada for next steps. They never saw this before but they expect to get the ok from Jaguar Canada soon. most likely the entire door will need to be fixed and repainted.
3) Car honking for no reason
The driver door handle had and electrical issue with the black square button that unlocks the car. It was causing shorts hence the dual honking when the door opened and the honking during the night. They changed the handle and problem solved.
Cheers,
Gab
