Default Newbie sat nav question.

I am looking to get the latest sat nav disc for my 2008 XF.

How do I load the new disc please?

Haven't done it on the xf yet, but in a similar alpine oem system it was just pop the DVD in. When it recognizes, it will prompt you for an update if there is one, otherwise it just reads the maps off there.

In the XF, the DVD drive for the nav is in the trunk, there is a panel on the left side near the opening that you remove to expose the drive. Very straightforward. Good luck!

Oh and have your car running or plugged into a battery charger....I ruined a nav because I let it update after I had left the car running for an hour playing music while I was cleaning it. The car ran out of battery during the update and it completely hosed the firmware, had to get it shipped out for repair.

LOL yeah yeah my bad.
