It appears that the start-stop button on my XF stopped pulsating. The button still works but the pulsating light is gone. Did I unknowingly mess up a setting somewhere or is it something else (blown led, fuse, etc.)? Any ideas?

Cheers!

Anything in the Owner Manual about it ? And do you miss the light ? It seems to me we are getting a bit too much like 'Tokyo by Night' with the latest Jaguar cars.

Well, I am **** about everything working. If it is there, it should work. Frankly, like it or not some of what you call "Tokyo by Night" is helping revive Jag as a brand and in catching up with offerings from other luxury makers. Before the XF, Jag was not even on my radar. I guess the old Jag didn't really appeal to my demographics (early 30s).

Anyway, I was playing with activating/deactivating the interior courtesy lights and in doing so, the start/stop button started pulsating again. I cannot say it is linked to the courtesy lights though since I was not able to duplicate it but I am glad it is working again.

Cheers!

It is not a driver alterable setting so the light has become non functional. It won't be just a fuse. I rather like the pulsing light as well as the rotating vents (which can be altered by the driver to stay fixed open) and the rising gear selector. These are consistent with the new Jaguar feel combining old World sophistication with the sense of high tech entertainment. It isn't high tech of course but that is the whole point.

It boils down to the joy of driving and the Jaguar delivers on the promise presented by the superficial high tech with real World driving pleasure to the latest standards of performance. The new Jaguar makes BMW, Audi and Mercedes products seem unnecessarily complex and flashy actually. Heck I can even turn up the radio without looking at a menu choice screen first.

Get your dealer to fix that pulsation...

Jagular - thanks for your feedback. It appears that you missed the second part of my previous post. The pulsation is back now. Cannot explain why or what happened but it seems to be working for now. If it happens again, I will definitely take it to the dealer.

Cheers!

Looked at and sat in the new XJ today at a Jaguar dealer in Wilmslow, near Manchester. I think the front is better than the XF, but boy, it is a big car ! Mybe in 8 years when depreciation has taken its toll.

I checked out the new XJ when I picked up my XF. The front is gorgeous on the XJ. In fact, there isn't a bad angle for the XJ.

I agree, the front on the XF is the weakest element of its otherwise great design.

The XJ may be big but it is lighter and quicker than the XF, aluminum v steel body.

This happened to my car a few times as well, along with the auto light, most of the times they work perfect, but a few times they just take a break. I asked my dealer and he said a few other owners reported the same issue as well. I guess it all depends on the Car's Mood

If the oil sending unit has been disconnected the injectors will not work.Make sur that the oil pressure sending unit is electrically hooked up.

well, ya know kittens are finicky from time to time
Mine did the same thing right after I read your post, then it started working again.
Figured I'd read your post again then go down and check to see if it stopped working again

The cat appears to be in a good mood so far. No recurrence of the incident so far.
