Default Noise from the rear when exiting (like an electric motor)

Im not sure im jinxed with all these little trivial things or im just paranoid, you guys must think im the court jester here . . But I noticed this the other night and then thought it was coming from outside my garage as i could not pinpoint it..

But after i exit the car and lock theres a running noice from the rear like an electric motor running... It runs for quite some time it was still running before I came in to type this (about 3mins) I have no clue what it is but i can hear it nice and clear when i put my ear down by either rear wheel?

Any ideas? Im gonna go check it see if its gone off.

My 09 SC has the same noise. I thought it was normal so I haven't worried about it. I'm not sure if it runs for 3 minutes but I definitely hear an electrical noise from the rear after I turn the car off.

I can hear the same sound, sounds like a electric pump running for up to 3-4 minutes after turning off/locking car. I sometimes hear a low decibel pop/creaking along with that noise on my 09 XF SC in the garage.

Sounds like the motor for the electric parking brake? Running on perhaps?

EPB should run for maybe 1-2 secs only, as by then it's fully applied.

mine did the same thing last night. rapid clicking from rear passenger side .it's the fuel door motor---also the flasher light in the middle of the dash was flashing-------well my battery is/was dead.in fact I had to put a charger and a battery tender on it last night. putting a battery tender on it alone gave it just enough power for the fuel door to go ape s---...seemed to be better after a few hours. Lastly I would u-tube a vid on how to jump a xf --- it's not cut and dry!!!

Been noticing the same sound as OP and others have mentioned. Only notice it sometimes though. Not sure if that's because I don't stick to around to listen or it actually did not come on. When I do hear it, it also lasts for 1-3min. and then ends with a sort of "clack" sound.
