Filter removal
HELLO
I have a 2013 XF 3.0 V6 engine. Looks like it is a Ford engine or at least has a bunch of FoMoCo parts on it including some sort of plastic oil filter cap that covers the drop in oil filter. I tried to remove it and it does not want to move. Before I torque it I need to ask if perhaps it is a reverse thread although I have tried it in both directions. Also what tool do you use to remove the cap? Is there a specific size that is recommended? Any recommendations on the brand oil filters that you have found to work well? Thanks.

See this thread on the F-Type forum, especially posts # 4 and # 32, for some hints and tips about oil change and oil filter (the AJ126 V6 and AJ133 V8 are absolutely identical regards oil, sump, oil filter etc): https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...change-201082/
As for oil filters I have used the Wix 57279 for years on my XFR and F-Type with no problems at all, other good brands include Mahle and Mann, see here for example: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...il+filter,5340
