Oil level issue

Oil level issue
At first it wouldn't say anything, just see handbook. Now it shows something but I don't know what it's saying. No oil? Too much? It keeps saying see handbook but handbook says to look here, it's recursive and unhelpful. Any suggestions? Trying to do an oil change but couldn't get a reading beforehand and the extractor pulled less than 2L, not sure if it's broken. Sounded like it had an air leak, it just wouldn't pull any more.

My crystal ball fails me - I can't see which engine this is.
Please add model year and engine details for accurate advice. Oil capacity for a refill and filter change on the X250 varies between 6.4 and 7.25 litres depending on the engine fitted.
That being said, the display is showing oil level above maximum for safe operation. However, the vehicle MUST be absolutely LEVEL for an accurate reading. A few degrees up or down at front or rear can really throw the reading. It could just be an inaccurate reading. It could be a faulty level sensor. Either way, I'd not be taking any chances. It would be another drain and refill for me. That would also confirm whether the level sensor is working.
I have a great dislike of extractors. I know Dealers and our US members love them because it's quick, clean and easy but I always prefer to pull the drain plug then I know it's emptied and I know exactly how much oil to use for the refill.

From an earlier post of yours I see you have a 2015 XF 3.0L. A full fill of oil should be 6.4L. If you were only able to remove less than 2L of dirty oil and your oil level gauge prior to removal was showing a normal oil level, either there was a problem with your oil level gauge system or you did not remove all of the old oil or some combination of the two.
The picture of your oil level gauge shows that you have a high oil level. You need to follow the previous posters advice before driving your car.
