Default Opinions on these wheels : Part 2

I started a thread a few weeks back on the blaque diamond wheels and not many people liked them (thanks), because it opened up my search and I have since then found something else I really like.

I moved to Vossens, but found that they don't make the ones I like (the CV #'s ) in a size 20 for our car. On to the wheels that I like, and would like some help. I know everyone has different tastes when it comes to wheels, but we all love the XF, so we do share something in common.

I also hate cleaning wheels, so I really want to get a darker wheel. I am very interested in the Forgestar F14's in either Matte Black, Piano Black, or Gunmetal. Right now, Gunmetal is by #1 choice, and I think I may pull the trigger soon because it takes about 8 weeks to build and deliver.

Here is a shot of the gunmetal wheel, and then a few shots of various set ups.

What should I do?

The XF shot has the matte black, and the BMW has the Gunmetal.

I like them. I think they would look better with a bit of a polished lip (more so on the rear). I'm not a fan of black on black so I'd pick gunmetal.

I like the wheel design it self I actually had a set on my CLK55, Many people who order Forgestars have waited up to 3 months for them. I had to wait about 10 weeks for mine. Also on my set, one of the wheel's finish did not match the other 3. I eventually had to repaint the whole set. Then again, this was about 2 to 3 years ago when Forgestars were first introduced, they may be better now. But before you buy, you should go on MBforums.com and do a search for "Forgestar" It may change your mind. Good luck in your search. TC

They look very German - a lot like Audi wheels. I wish I had found these when looking for new wheels for my old S4! That said, they look fine on the XF - I voted for gunmetal.

Gunmetal would look the best I think, have you looked at the Vossen wheels as they are very cheap with a high dollar look and qaulity.

To me they look like they could be a stock wheel. IMHO if you are gonna buy wheels they should not look like they are possibly the stock wheel. Go for something with a decent lip on it.

I did look at Vossen's but the ones I like are not available in 20's.

I had a mesh lip with a huge lip on my M45, but wanted want something different this time. The lip always makes the wheel look smaller.

Like the wheels and like the Gun Metal. Black is a close second.

Look nice. Zero-lip is a good look right now. Unfortunately probably you won't get much of the concave effect on the XF. I assume your car's black so I'd probably go with the gunmetal. I don't care for blk on blk if there's not a lip for contrast.

The only car i liked them on in the gallery is the Ferrari. Everything else it takes away from.

Let me see how i can put this.....i am not meaning the following in any bad way. But, XF is like the person in a suit with nice dress shoes on. Those wheels make the car look like it swapped the dress shoes out for sneakers.

Not full blown sneakers, just something more comfortable...like the Cole Haan Nike LunarGrand wingtips!

Forgestar guaranteed the place where I purchased them 8 weeks, but I'm familiar with the wait times, so we shall see.
