Camshaft position sensor fault.
Hi folks, Looking for some help! I have a 2016 Jaguar XF 2.0 Diesel 180. Engine management light appeared on it a few weeks ago so I got a diagnostics done on it, diagnostic showed that there was a fault in the camshaft position sensor but I had also noticed that car was quite loud and rattly on a cold start for a few days prior to that. After car warmed up it went back to sounding normal. Mechanic replaced Camshaft position sensor but light was still coming on so he reccommened changing Timining Chain (Car had 80,000 miles). When Mechanic was was doing timing chain he said the timing guide was broke resulting in there being very little tension on chain. All parts were replaced and put back together. Car started no problem and the rattle was most deffinitelty gone when you started car. But.... Car is still has engine management light coming on and it is showing same fault (Camshaft position sensor). The car is also very sluggish to start but it does start everytime. I also feel the engine is a little bit louder than what it should be. Just does not seem to be ricking over the way it used to. Is there a possibilty that sensor even though its new may need to be replaced? Is it a tuning problem? Does anyone have any idea on what may be the problem? Thanks in advance.
