Default Part moving inside of newly purchased headlights...

I purchased a pair of non-American headlights from a fellow forum member. Upon arrival I noticed something rattling around inside the headlight housing. Upon further inspection I found the source. See video:

Is this normal? I'm at work and only have one of the two headlights with me. They were delivered at different times so I'm not able to compare them right now.

Thanks so much!

That looks like the Adaptive headlights for the XF. They move side to side with the steering wheel tracking your turning.

My 13 has them, it was an option.

Are these headlights 100% "swappable" with cars that did not come with this option? My current headlights do not have this feature.

This possible to do, but you need change CCF file, reprogram light module and update SW for Instrument Cluster

Whoa... can you tell me that in layman's terms? I'm pretty new to the forums so I don't know all of the lingo.

If you install these headlights w/o reprogramming, the AFS option doesn't work.

For these procedures you need SDD software (dealer software), OBD cable

Better found someone who know what and how it make

As for me it's the headlight for EU Countries w/o AFS, please make the photo front of headlight.

If you afraid for moving of lenses - it's OK, in facelift XF you have the possibility to change light from LHD to RHD using a SDD software

The round plastic piece identified by the red arrows is the part that is moving.

It's EU Headlights w/o AFS, so just install them and plug w/o any software update, just Plug&Play and enjoy
