Default Passenger front tire too close to front bumper

about to buy a 2010 Jag Xf Premium 44k miles

only thing wrong is that the position of the tire is too far forward and on turns will rub the lower fender by the bumper.
The tire on the driver side is properly positioned..

Tires on vehicle currently(as far as i know):22 inch Borghini 19 rims

My question: Is this an expensive fix? My thought process is that if this was an inexpensive quick fix then it wouldve been fixed already...

Background: Apparently he bought this vehicle at auction ... Got hit in the front... fixed it up did great job on it!!!)

Have a mechanic put the car on an alignment machine and check for wheel and frame alignment. I suspect that the body is the problem and not any part of the frame or suspension components. I don't think that it is a very expensive fix either way.

I wouldn't buy a car like that even if it was cheap. You will have a tough time selling it when your ready for something else.

Just have a reputable shop put it on a good four corner alignment machine. Tell him the problem and have him check for alignment and distances between all the wheels to see if the drivetrain is out of alignment. He can check for that and then give you an idea on why it is rubbing. Like I said, I suspect that the body portion is the part that is out of alignment and it should be pulled in order to algn it where it no longer rubs. But it could be as simple as a caster adjustment

Your wheels may also be the issue - 22inch is probably too big for the XF. Max OEM wheels come in at 20 inch. Yours are quite over-sized. So as well as correcting any frame alignment issues, you may just want to step back to a more 'normal' wheel size.

I think those rims look hideous. Just my $0.02 but you couldn't pay me to drive an XF with those on. Dump them....

@BritCars i dont think so as the front driver side wheel is okay , just the right side....

@timfountain, i agree... I dont favor them ... Plan on getting rid of them

And i plan on getting a smaller size.. I'll update the post when new information is available
