A very pretty pix of Oz. It looks a lot like New England over here in the US.
Where was it taken?

You dreamed of a big star -
He played a mean guitar -
He loved to drive his Jaguar...
This photo was taken down in the southwest corner of Victoria on the coast at Portland near the border with South Australia. For many years Victoria was always described as the garden state of Australia having by Australian stndards a cool temperate climate, with lots of greenery and almost English like countryside in the coastal areas. But my XF frequently takes me out into more remote arid and desolate parts of the country. In two weeks I've planned a 3,600km trip out to Pimba in South Australia which is on the Stuart Highway to Darwin. Having owned my XF from new and having access to a fantastic Jaguar maintenance specialist I have total confidence in the car's performance and reliability. In fact he says the excellent overall condition of the car mechanically etc can be attributed to these ultra long drives. Whilst only a 2.7L diesel the car has all the performance I need and in South Australia there is a 130km/hr highwway limit in a number of sections where you can cruise at that speed for hours!!!
Well, there is not much to tell or show, it is the very basic Jaguar XF 2.7D 2008. No extras, no modifications, small scratches here and there, but I enjoy driving it every minute behind the wheel for more than two years and more than 100 000 kilometers already, it is an adorable daily workhorse for me (I usually drive approximately 200 kilometers per day).
Hello Gunars Valdmanis
I was scrolling through this page and saw your great picture of you XF. I too have a basic Jaguar XF 2.7D 2008 and I used to be a bit shy about showing and saying much about my car but given how beautiful and elegant XF Jaguar's are I thought no I have a beautiful car, I get many admirers who pass comments and most are just so impressed with the design and the presence the car has. Every car I have ever owned I keep for a long time and so I thought in 2021 after joining this forum I would consider some upgrades to enhance my driving experience and take advantage of new technology etc. So I've upgraded the sound system to Bowers and Wilkins - superb, had apple car play incorporated into the car - wonderful and had all the exterior and interior lighting upgraded to LED including day notce lights in the air intake grill. Shortly I'm having the illuminated door tread lighting fitted and finally having the front grill replaced with woven stainless steel along with the front bumper air grills.
I've also had the car eramic coated and I am very happy with how its turned out.
OK, so now that I've had mine repainted, I'd like to share as well. I was thinking of getting the Maxton front splitter and rear spoiler, but maybe I'll just leave it as is. Now I'm really happy with the way it looks. I've changed the Diff oil, SC oil and Transmission fluid. Also added spacers (20mm rear and 15mm front) Mechanically, it's sound and running good.

What's an SV8?
I don't think that was a label in North America.
================================================== ===========
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, and
Torque is how far you take the wall with you
The SV8 is the 4.2 SC, I think in Britain and here in Australia, it's called the SV8, but in the US its referred to as the XF 4.2 SC.
Looking sensational. I thought you previously had a whate/porcelain XF??
Tell me did you have this ceramic coated. The finish is magnificent. I had my XF coated and I'm really impressed at both its appearance and how much easier it is to maintain

I used to have to have 2010(MY11) Preface-lift 5.0 NA XF in Polar White, there was a major storm and unfortunately I lost that car due to damages that couldn't be repaired
thankfully insurance covered it!
So now I have I have the 2008 XF SV8(4.2 SC) Black with black/charcoal interior.
My first Jag was the Polar White pictured above, 2010(MY11) Preface-lift 5.0 NA which I sadly lost
My 2nd Jag is the below pictured Black 2008 XF SV8(4.2 SC)

This is my setup now.
Got some Fondmetal 9RR's for the F-type.
Front 19 x 8.5 ET49 (15mm spacer)Rear 19 x 9.5 ET27 (no spacer)All with 245/40R19's
I don't think I can go much wider on the rear, but I'll have to look into that. For now, I'm happy.
