Default Plastic Jag cover on air vents in the back

So, recently I saw that in the back of my car I'm missing one of the plastic covers that are on the 'sliders' for the vents in the console in the back. How and where it went is a mystery.. It's hard to think of a more first world problem, or indeed a less serious problem with the jag, but there you go..!

Anyone have an idea on where I could get a replacement, or even if there's a part number CZ etc for it..If i could pick one up fairly cheap that'd be great but if it's complicated I'll just make do!

A very happy christmas to all!

You'd have to buy that entire rear console piece.

c2z27880. It's about $500 usd

Find a car that's being broken and offer them 10 dollars for the little plastic piece!

$500?! Thats makes this a pricey bit of plastic. That is what the dealer preemptively said - I would have to replace the entire unit. I don't think I care about it that much!

Good idea Britcars Ill try to buy the piece as a part, I'm curious whether or not someone is willing to 'part' with theirs!

I never sit in the back of mine so it wouldn't bother me a bit, especially for $500!

You could probably just get the assembly out of a wreck for substantially less.

I would be happy to sell you one from my recent salvage experience. Just pm me and let me know if you still need it.

Do you have two? Funny that I have that exact same part missing!

Update- I found said chrome piece. It has literally fallen into the vent, I hovered over the vent with a flashlight and lo and behold it was hiding in the back in one of the corners. Tried using a pair of tweezers to get it back to no avail!

Nearest dealer is 1hr 30 away, so my challenge now is to figure out how (easy/difficult) it is to remove the console unit...? If its not a job I can do on my own, I wonder if an indy would be able to remove the unit and replace once the chrome piece is removed without too much trouble...

I would think that if you can see the chrome piece that you can get it. Try a pipe cleaner or wire with some sticky tape on the end of it. You should be able to bend it how you need it to reach. The rear units can be tricky to remove with scratching or breaking. Best to look at diagram of one to see the attachment points first. Let us know what happens and how you eventually reattached the piece to the vent.
