Well I guess we need to guess your car and engine?

Makes it harder but I have an STR so I have seen it.

You have a flap into the air box that is electrically controlled. When at full throttle the computer pulls this flap open so the engine can inhale more air. Some people remove the flap completely in the belief they will gain power. This has never been proven. I think the flap is only on SC cars but maybe someone with the NA 4.2L can check and see if this is correct?

I see the other end of the connection in there so just plug them together. Most likely someone had the air box out of the car and forgot to hook it back up. I think the other end is maybe under your air box. So plan on taking it out and checking for the matching pigtail.

I always take the air box out when I change the air filter so if it's time you could do both. It's pretty easy to pull the whole thing out. Only one bolt and a couple of clamps and electrical connectors. Take it easy on the breather pipe as you must squeeze the round retaining ring and pull it loose. Don't get rough with anything!

Man you got all that yellow pollen too! It has been bad in my area.

Right. You have the plug trapped under the air box. (I think)

If you remove the air box you should be able to see it. I was trying to high light the wire disappearing under the air box as a possible place it got trapped.
