My owners manual shows how to fold them, but it does not work.

Is that an optional feature in the US or is it standard and mine don't work?

 

I have a 2009 XF and mine don't work either. I inquired with the dealer I bought them from and they said they were an option (although the brochure from 2009 said they were standard). If you go to your vehicle settings within the touch screen you should check if there is the option to make them fold automatically (Navigate to Vehicle --> Security --> at the bottom it shows window's global open/close and mirror fold back. If it doesn't have the option then your car probably doesn't have it, like mine

I notice the manual must be for a supercharger or a vehicle with all options because it discusses other things mine doesn't have. (Which usually only come on the supercharger)

 

I only have the "tilt down in reverse" feature on the screen.

I guess it is optional and I don't have it.

 

Power folding mirrors were not an option in the US in 2009 and 2010. Later, I don't know. You can fold them by hand, but frankly, they don't fold back much.
