Power steering issue?

Yesterday evening, driving home from work (in the bitter cold... 8F) my 2010 Jag Xf Supercharged ran perfectly for about 15-20 minutes of highway driving. As I neared by home on local roads, I turned sharply into a side street and felt a vibration in the steering wheel and heard a humming sound. The vibration/humming continued for the rest of the journey. There is a background vibration linked to rpm, and it becomes much more noticable while I am turning the steering wheel (can feel it through the steering wheel and hear it clearly). I assume this is something on the power steering - any ideas?
This morning (again v cold) I started engine and it was fine (no vibration). Similarly drove to work and as I was on local roads by my office it started again on a sharp corner and continued until I arrived at my destination.
All thoughts and ideas welcome - hoping it's nothing too serious but wondering if it needs to go into dealer.
Thanks!

So - took the car to the dealer today. Apparently the power steering pump is leaking (hence the low fluid level...). Has to be replaced, so new part on order. Dealer and I both surprised that a 2-year old car with 20k miles needs a new power steering pump - but there you go...
Thanks to everyone for the help.
