Lightbulb Pre-2012 BT Streaming Fix

I have a fix for those who want AD2P Bluetooth Streaming in their Pre- 2012 Jags. Iworked wih a friend for some timeover at HTC and now they hve shipped these neat, tiny, Bluetooth Streaming dongles with 3.5 mm jacks on them.

You can see in the pix how small d easy it fits in the jags audio aux jack wthout wires cluttering it up and no need for installation fees. Just charge it up andplug it in and air your phone, etc with it and it is ready to use.

Here is a link to the item but I bet you can find it cheaper else where like Ebay and such : http://www.htcaccessories.com.au/HTC...ereo_Clip.aspx

Currently I have 3 thngs paired with my phone while driving. 1 is the Jags Bluetooh,2 is this HTC Dongle, and 3 is my OBD 2 dongle.
I have had no isues or glitches with this HTC dongle yet.

I actually just leave it in my console with the car charger, charging it so all I do is get in my XFR and it powers on and connects and ready to use just like the cars Bluetooth feature. Itthen disconnects soon as I leave the car.
Truly handsfree and cheap, small, and works.

Here is a few pix of the device. Tell me what you think of it.

Comments on Amazon said you have to reconnect every time you get into the car unless you have a HTC phone. Is that true?

I have been using this, see link below, on my previous 2007 XK and now on my 2010 XF. It has an Apple 30 pin connector but it doesn't work on my XF. It also allows you to connect to the aux jack. It does not automatically connect to my iPhone but I don't mind because I don't want it connected unless I want to listen to the music. It also conveniently plugs into the power plug and since it turns off with the car there is no issue with it being on all the time. Here is the link:

Sound is better or equal to the Sirius radio S/N ratio.
My source is my HTC DNA phone and I am using Google Play Music to stream from my PC to my phone and then to my AUX jack. The stream is 320kbps
I switched back and forth to slacker and pandora radio as well and it all seems about the same qaulity.

I have a HTC DNA and mine pairs by itself everytime I eneter the car so I am unsure if other phones would have to reconnect everytime or not. But I can check cause I have a few other phones laying around to test it with.

Another good thing about this tiny device is when Jag gives me a loaner I just toss it in the AUX jack of the loaner and I am good to go with all my tunes and no wires or bulk.

Well, I tested it again this time with a Motorola Razr Maxx and a Samsung Galaxy Nexus
and both reconnected everytime on their own without need to repair the device.

I also say to use this HTC dongle as it is so small and takes up almost no room and is easy to move car to car. Fits in your pockethave cables and ar bulky.

Don't think this corrects my complaint. Mainly that I need to look down and fiddle with the phone to change tracks. Installed an aftermarket stereo on my XJ-S, love the fact that I can switch tracks through the stereo interface...

Cheers,

- Will

Got mine from amazon today, I'm super impressed!! Bid Cat I have to disagree with you big time, the sound quality is way better that the sat radio.... sat radio uses very low bit rate, the stereo clip will play lossless via Bluetooth, that's impressive. Thanks for the find! By the way, no problem reconnecting, it's been seamless each time so far.

My 10 XKR does not have a 3.5 aux jack. Any thoughts?

Check out third party interfaces that will either give you direct connect or an aux or BT streaming. Try Blitz Safe, Scosche, PIE, Audio Control, NavTv, etc

What are you recommending? Are any of these different from the Stereo Clip?

Yes, But depends on what you want it for and want it to do. Here is an example of some of the type of interfaces you can get for the Jaguar line up. Some of us here may want a wired connection so it charges as well, and others may want total wireless like the stereo clip we use. Im just giving out options to others who just might want something different.

NAV-TV Corporation: Customer Area
I worked with NavTv for many years developing many products like these . I must say the products are not cheap at all but they work very well and integrate easily.

Any clue as to why it doesn't interface with the apple 30 pin connector. I have the iPod connector cable in my XK but not an aux jack.
So for the iskin bt adapter to work I would have to use the iPod plug absent of an aux jack plug.
