Got the Eurocharged pulley installed. Was not hard at all with the proper puller.



Baking the pulley to a nice golden brown. lol The toaster over did a great job at expanding the pulley.




Pulley slipped right on...



Haven't had a chance to drive it yet but the car is coming together nicely.

Blacked out the white portion of the tail lights. Looks awesome. Exactly how I envisioned it.

Looks good.
But them's the reversing lights, and quite likely illegal where you are.
I suppose if you get pulled by the boys in blue it's easy to remove?

Where did you find the pulley puller?

I was expecting to hate the hail light blackout, but I actually really like it, nice! Is that a film or spray?

The rule actually states that "backup lamps shall be so directed as to project a white light illuminating the highway to the rear of the vehicle for a distance not to exceed 75 feet." which mine still do so I think I am still ok. Either way I'm not overly worried about it.

Thanks. I borrowed the puller from a local shop. Its the VMP Supercharger Pulley puller. Its meant for Mustang GT500 but it worked perfectly. I needed to use a regular small 3 claw puller at the end because I couldn't clear the pulley off the shaft using the VMP puller.

Twin Ciity Performance Intake:

I noticed my OEM intake was cracked at the throttle body so rather than replace with OEM I decided to get a TCP intake.

EXHAUST

I did a lot of research and decided to modify the stick exhaust rather than just buy an axle back system

What I ended up doing was having both resonators removed and replaced with an X-pipe and straight pipe. I then had the valves on the mufflers removed so they are always open and not just when wide open throttle. The car sounds perfect. A nice exotic sound when cruising and a nice volume when floored.

Here te is what I had removed and replaced with the x-pipe.





Here is a video of a cold start up and a few revs.


and here is a warm start to show how quiet it is when the revs settle from 1500RPM to 800rpm with a rev for good measure.

lol, ya I read through a few threads on different forums about this mod before I chose it over an axle back exhaust. Thanks to the pioneers.

Well I guess it’s the end of a chapter. Driving home from work last week the traffic on the highway came to a stop. I slowed down and was sitting there for a few seconds when I notice a BMW booking it in my rear view and not slowing down. I tapped my brakes to try and get his attention but he must of been very distracted because he didn’t see the 4 lanes of stopped traffic and he had ages to do so. Cop said he must of been on his phone but no way to prove it. By the time he looked up and saw us all stopped it was too late. I saw his lights point down from slamming the brakes but he just locked them up. Closed my eyes right before impact knowing this was going to hurt. It’s estimated he was going between 60-70km/h upon impact. Luckily I had turned my wheel to the center lane and when he hit me he threw me into that lane and the cars started to advance so I didn’t hit a car in front of me and get squished. You could see the skid marks of my car from where he hit me to where I stopped 60 feet away. The impact was like nothing I’ve ever felt but the car did what it was supposed to do and absorbed the brunt. I walked away with only a sore neck and back as did he. When I finally got out of the car I was expecting my trunk to be in the back seats but to my surprise the car wasn’t as mangled as I expected. I guess because both cars were the same height the external damage was minimized. My frame was squished in several inches which buckled the two rear 1/4 panels. The undercarriage was pressed up against the rear tires and the engine was on an angle when I opened the hood so I guess he drivetrain shifted. Anyway very thankful no one was hurt more as it could have been way worse. Pissed that the car is a write off since it was exactly how I wanted it. Ahh well... time for something new I guess. I’m working with Eurocharged as we speak so the new Jag, although and XJ and not an XF, will be as fast as this one was.

I skimmed through this while waiting to drop the wife at the station so that she can earn more Jag money for us, I'll read the whole thing later, properly, for now, I like the approach of fettling what is already the world's best super saloon, to your own needs.

Thanks guys. It was a hard pill to swallow but it happens. Loved my time with the XFR and learned a lot from everyone here. I'll post some info and pics about the new ride soon.

A sad end to a well sorted, subtle project.
You are more philosophical about than I would have been; the BMW driver would be in hospital, and I'd be in the nick.
Try a facelift car with the eight speed box; it really makes a difference to the responses, and the fuel economy (we didn't buy ours for economy either, but 30 ish mpg on an eleven hundred mile trip is a bonus).
