Default Propshaft centre bearing

I have symptoms that I suspect are from a failing propshaft centre bearing. Is the bearing replaceable? Does anyone have part numbers for it?

Having the same issue, here we go down another rabbit hole on a parts treasure hunt just to avoid blowing stupid thousands just to keep this pile rolling down the road, reluctantly.

For those not in denial the XF is just a reskinned S-Type, so of course comparing used driveshafts the center bearing at least appears the same.

No use trying to confirm this however, this site for example presents a mix of them but will say S-Type when expanding the suitable vehicles. It should be the wide set bolt pattern, saw OE part XR821455 on some ebay auctions. So of course it will be a gamble.

"Center Support Bearing" Ebay results on XF are nil, for S-Type there is plenty.

This guy made it work on his S-Type at least,

What a great mystery only solved by taking on all the risk of money time and frustration. Only because some morons expect to sell and ship entire driveshafts across continents when all that's needed is a little bearing. Good luck to us and our stupid cars.

Thanks for the above, I really do not believe in replacing any assembly simply because a bearing has reached the end of it's life, if the manufacturer of the assembly can source a bearing then so can I. The timing is bad for me here though, my workshop is entirely occupied with a chassis swap on my defender, so no workshop space to pull the shaft out and no other car to drive whilst I do so. It will have to keep wobbling until the Landy is back together. A vibration under acceleration that I'm pretty sure must be the centre bearing.

For anyone into the trucks or if those parts are easier to come by in your region, found this guy even made it work with a L322 RR center bearing by pressing that out and into the XF bracket. Really rolling the dice here.

Well the fitment worked, had a shop install it and they would complain loudly if I gave them the wrong part.

The supplier I used and measurements in case this listing gets deleted

Rear Shaft Center Bearing for 1999-2008 Jaguar S-Type XJ8, X350, XJ350 ID1.181

Rear Driveshaft Center CarrierBearing for Jaguar S-Type XJ8, X350, XJ350 ID1.181
Center Bearing Dimensions
Internal Diameter 1.181
Width 0.511
Hole Centers 6.614
30mm x 13mm x 169mm
Anything beyond 2008-2009 cars or diesel is beyond the scope here and will need to be tried at your own risk, checked a lot of years and models driveshafts in auctions and some look different.

Pictures of item on hand and crappy video from shop with the part not fully tightened down yet.

Thanks for posting the information, I've ordered the part from the same supplier. Estimate is about 3 weeks to get here, hopefully I'll have the Defender finished by then; roll one pommy car out of the workshop and the other one in!

I finally got around to this job today, the part has been sitting on my bench in an un-opened postage parcel for 5 months...I can confirm that the part listed above is correct for the 4.2 supercharged or SV8, thanks very much 'litteredwithfaults' for the research to find that. Seems to have got rid of my vibration under acceleration. Discovered a few other problems whilst I had it on the hoist, like a slightly buckled rear wheel rim, a screw in one front tyre (damn!) and oil leaks from the cooler piping (again) and the rear main seal. Looks like another engine removal in my future, thankfully not urgent yet and I have installed a 2-post hoist in my shed since last time I did that job, should be easy-peasy now. yeah right..
