Question Question about start/stop eco feature

Has anyone used this before? How do you like it? Have you noticed any gas savings? It took me a while getting used to it but after 3 months I'm perfectly fine with it; however, I am somewhat concern about the engine/transmission. But then again, I assume this was tested for a reasonable period of time before they add it to new vehicles. Just curious about others opinion.

I use it. It was very weird at first, but now I expect it to happen and I am a bit disappointed when it doesn't. There would be no effect on the engine and the transmission, however the starter should fail earlier than it normally would. I have no idea what the life expectancy on a starter is through normal use though.

Not sure I believe my dealer or not, but I did see the extra battery in the tire well... he told me it has a separate starter, ECU and battery for the Eco... I know I have grown used to it.

I believe there is in fact a second starter to support this function.

Separate battery and much smaller starter motor than the main one.
