Question about swapping seats , XF vs XFR
I just purchased a 2011 XF Premium and I want to upgrade the front seats due to lack of any lateral support. I'd like the seats from an XFR or 12+ XF.
I have found the back seat covers from a XFR, and can source the seat foam from an online parts house. My question is, has anyone had the seat apart to know if the underlying seat frame is different between the XF and XFR? How about between the 2011 XF and the 12+ models?
Looking at the online parts diagrams, the parts look the same, but it's hard to know for sure. It would be awesome if the foam was a direct swap onto the XF seat frame, but I hate to spend the money if it won't fit.
Thanks for any help.
Just for reference, I'm looking at replacing parts 1 & 2 from this diagram. Part 5 is the seat frame.

I'd say your best bet is to find complete used seats from a salvage yard. They won't be cheap though. The color will be hard to match up as well since there were quite a few color combos.
You could try to match the frame part numbers if there were separate part numbers for the seat frame. The numbers may change due to updates though and the frames may be the same as far as you are concerned.
