Default Ready To Buy A Supercharged 2009 XF

I had a 2002 XJ Sport that I drove for 6 years and 160,000 miles that was trouble free. Now I'm getting ready to purchase a 2009 supercharged XF and hoping to have a similar result. The car has about every option you could get on an XF.
In researching the cars, I noticed the a number of people have had problems with the gear selector, but there's been no recall. This and the fact there appears to be a lot of bells and whistles that can break and be expensive to fix troubles me a little.
My problem is I love the appearance and performance of the car and the emotional side of my brain says - "buy it!"
I'm trying to satisfy the rational side of my brain. The car has about a year left on the factory warranty. Are there any other problems with the car I should prepare myself for? Is there a reliable, reasonably priced extended warranty that anybody has purchased?
Thanks,
Chris

There was a recall for the shifter in the 2009 XF. The service records for the car should indicate if it was installed; otherwise, the dealer should be able to determine if it was installed

Buy it. The XF is well built and has a few well documented problems all of which Jaguar has fixed. If you liked your older XJ which was less reliable than the new Jaguars, what are you waiting for?????

Looks great!

I love those rims. Wish they were the ones on my 10.

Is that dark gray or black?

The car is Gray Pearl. The wheels are 20" and are the standard wheel for the 09 SC. I don't actually have the car yet. It's being shipped. Can't wait!

Great buy I love mine so much. I wouldn't change a thing if I had to do it again.

Well done. I have the Lunar grey with upgraded wheels. Simply beautiful and it's a refined monster.

One bitch. This is my second one - how come Jaguar can't even get the clock accurate to within 5 minutes a month????? Both of my 2009 XF's lose a minute a week or more.

Freakin' unbelievable.

It's because you've hit warp speed one to many times...

I've personally tested this theory on mine and it's also rellevant to my clock in my garage... lol

Duh, stupid me. Einsteins Theory of Relativity - as you approach the speed of light time slows down.

Makes perfect sense now.

Thought it was me, but my 2010 XF Premium has the same problem. Clock looses about 3 to 5 minutes a month. Never had a car that did that before. Mine is not an S/C or XFR so cannot claim Einstein relativistic effects!!

This is the one from eimports. Just got it a couple of days ago and am extremely pleased. The car looks and runs like new. Before I bought it, I drove my sister-in-law's XF, but it wasn't supercharged. The supercharger really gives the car a boost. George at eimports was a pleasure to deal with. As you'll see from my first post, the long term warranty was a big question. I shopped warranties and found them extremely expensive. He set me up with National Auto Care (NAC), who provided bumper-to-bumper coverage through 9/2015 and 100,000 miles, for $2,000 less the the lowest quote I had. My Jag dealer said they've had good experience with them.
I'm having a blast with the car !

CJATX - I'm actually in Cypress too, not Houston. You may have seen my XF around Huffmeister or Spring Cypress. PM me, I've had my car for 3 months.
