Rear sunblind - Can it be dealer installed?
Came back to the Jaguar family just recently - had two S-Types previously. I really like the naturally aspirated V8, so jumped on an opportunity to get a '12 XF Portfolio at the right price. I do wish it had the fold down rear seats and the sunblind, though.
Question before I approach the dealer: Can the rear sunblind be installed after the fact? Wondering because the wiring may already be there ... and it just needs to be installed and the new double button for Park Sensors and Sunblind installed...
Wondering the same about the folding rear seats, given that the seat itself is already 60/40.
Thanks!

The non sunblind equipped XFs have a double wide parking sensor button up there. If there is a sunblind, the parking sensor button is cut in half and the other half of the space is used by the sunblind switch.

I suspect anything can be done. For what price would be the question.
I have heard that all XF have folding rear seats. The fixed version is a folding seat secured by brackets. You need to remove the brackets and install the seat catches. No ski pass through on the fixed seatback though, maybe?

This is absolutely incorrect. Neither the electric rear window sunshade nor the folding 60/40 split rear seats with ski hatch and ski bag are standard on 2012 Portfolios, but 19" Caravela wheels are. The sunblind is only available as part of the optional Premium Pack 2 (which also includes blind spot monitor, electrochromic exterior mirrors, & intelligent high beam headlights) while the folding seats are a stand alone option. Always remember that in different model years the equipment can vary considerably in the same model. In 2012 the Portfolio was stripped down not only below the 2011 Portfolio but also well below the 2011 Premium, in effect concealing a rather large price increase for a comparably equipped car. In fact, in 2012 even the Supercharged model does not include either the folding seats nor the sunblind as standard.

Same for 2013. I ordered the Portfolio, premium pack, cold weather pack, one other pack to get keyless entry and also the folding seat with ski hatch as the standalone option, to get all the features I wanted. I don't think my portfolio is as luxurious as the 2011 portfolio.
I didn't think the total price was much different than for my '09 when you factor in the supercharged V6, 8 spd and AWD.

While I think Swimref's reply is quite informed, the characterization of a decontenting is a bit overstated. The '12 Portfolio became a distinct model, as opposed to a package. There became a Base, Portfolio, SC, and XFR. In essence, the Portfolio MODEL is a bit of a blend of the elements from both the premium and the portfolio packages of 2011. It is certainly true that if you had both premium and portfolio packages, you had more overall content in 2011. However, there were no adaptive headlights, the new interior treatment is a quite significant step forward, and the exterior revisions are frankly exquisite and as one reviewer stated, "they've got it sorted now." It now looks like it should have and how they would have done if easily acxllished back in the '09 model year.
The only things I'm wondering about are whether the seats can be retrofit easily, given that it looks like they already put the actual split seat in. And, if the rear blind is something easily installed.
I think rather than the dealer service or parts counter,
I should find a Jag body shop and ask th to compare the parts lists if they were needing to do replacements after an accident.
Frankly, these are probably cost more than value in the end, but who knows.

I have it on reliable authority that all XF are manufactured with folding rear seats. The supposedly fixed versions are just that, folding seats minus the latches and bolted in place. Folding back the trunk carpet at the base of the rear seat back should reveal the hinges to confirm this.
Retrofitting the rear sunblind would only be feasible if the wiring were there. A different parcel shelf and overhead switch console would be required.
