Does anyone know where to find the part that looks like a hex head bolt in the first picture? It is glued to the windshield to secure the mirror in place. My rear view mirror does not stay put and it appears the nub on the front of that part has worn down so the female end attached to the mirror (second picture) does not grab on to it securely. I'm not finding it on any parts diagrams. Any leads?
It looks like the ear at the bottom of the second photo is intended to snap onto the hex bolt head. I can't tell whether the hex bolt has an indentation on the face that is oriented to the back of the car. You might consider using some needle nose pliers to gently squeeze the ear so that it applies more pressure to the hex bolt. It looks like the piece in the second photo is held in place by two torx screws. You might take it loose to make it easier to work with.
