Default Resseting the service light on the XF FAQ

dont know if there is a thread for this but here it is:

I have tried the instructions but it doesnt seem to work!
on steo 2 the engine switches off
can you give me a step by step guide
and does the car need to be running before you start the procedure?

You don't start the engine, just ignition switch to pos II

The xf only has a start stop button

Sorry, not thinking.
If you look at the replies to the link in post #4 the engine is not running so presumably pressing the button without your foot on the brake will not start the engine?

Just press it without stepping on the brake pedal.

I now get a warning press break to start what is the procedure from here

Ignore it. You are now in the ancillary ignition power mode and you should be able to do step 3 along with the remaining steps.

ive tried this more than a few times and what it said once or twice was "not available see owner handbook" it never reset the light

You are experiencing the same problem as myself I have tried more than 20 times and it still wont work so im now giving up
