I had trouble back when I had a 5-s too, since then I have not been able to get any of my Iphones to connect with my Jaguar other than blue tooth. Very frustrating

I know this is an old thread but... I have a Le Mans edition XF-R too! lol. So that's 3 of the 50 in this thread alone. I'm having difficulty enabling voice on mine - i've turned the option on in the car config but I have 'Comms' in the menu now but not a lot happens when I press the button. I assume from Reg's post from 2016 that there is another option that needs to be enabled for it to function correctly. Any ideas?

Sent you a reply to your private message, but for others this is what I found fixed the problem.
There are several options for enabling voice control some are relevant and some are not but I always made sure that each setting enabled voice control. The one that made all the difference was one labelled voice control it's parameter 113 it has three options 'without voice control','voice control' and 'advanced speech recognition' the option that worked is advanced speech recognition.

Thumbs up

Perfect, cheers Reg, that did the trick! There is some reliance on the Sat Nav disc - I was right in my other thread on the subject, the voices you hear when using voice control are located on the nav DVD. I have an up-to-date DVD for a Land Rover which just makes a load of corrupt sounding noises and beeps at me when using the voice activation, so the files on there are obviously unsuitable for Jaguar voice. If I use my legit 2011 DVD it works perfectly!

I might have a go at enabling voice via my SDD, but I really do want to delete the TPMS altogether.
I have a Le Mans XFR too, great cars.

Glad you got it working, I did swap DVD's from Jaguar to Land Rover but not the other way, it's probably because voice is built into Sat Nav whereas on the Land Rovers that had voice I believe they used the phone system. The Land Rovers I used the DVD's on didn't have voice so no problems. You can still get updates on the internet for about £40 - £50. It get's more difficult with newer models USB sticks are available they cost around £90 as for all the new models that download from the internet I've yet to look for those.

Hi there,
I came in search of voice information and it seems I hit the right place. Am I correct in thinking that if a MY11 XF has a third party navigation, as they do where I am in Korea, that voice control can not be activated? I'm assuming that the 3rd party navi systems replace the Jag DVD systems, but I'll have to confirm that.

Thanks in advance!

Interested to know a bit more about your third party nav. Is it integrated into the factory screen?

Integrated, yes. I don't know how it's done as I haven't taken delivery of the car yet. There are a few leading brands of navi systems here and some savvy technicians who seem to find a way to do anything. Here's a pic from the car sale site. The navi systems are very good. I can't imagine driving here without one.

your assumption is correct jaguar voice is part of the nav system so if you use a third party nav you can’t use jaguar voice, you could ask if they have a replacement you can only ask.

Hi, I am interested in getting voice to work. You mentioned Sdd? Please use full words, what is SDD?

It's the Dealer level software (System Driven Diagnostics).
