My 09 XF came with a space saver wheel, which I don't like and I'd like to replace it with a regular rim. So, can anyone identify the type of rim that's fitted on my car. I googled and came up with a load of wheels but nothing to match mine. A name and or part number would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Something to consider.....at least in my '09 XF, the spare wheel/tire fits into a specific "holder", which, coincidentally, is also the subwoofer for the sound system. Where do you plan to put the full-sized spare?
(I'm not trying to start an argument, as I also think these "donut" spares are really lame.)
I asked this question of the salesman before I even bought my XF since the S-type that I had used a full-size matching tire/wheel. He said you could fit a full-size tire/wheel below the floor, but the carpeted cover would not close over it flush. Just be grateful you have any spare tire on you car (some MB and BMWs have no spare but have run-flat tires)

I agree. My Corvette has the "run-flats", that are good for 50 miles. It has had me think twice, before driving any distance from home. In fact, had I done more research before buying the car, and had known that was the case, I may not have bought the car.
With respect to the XF, I don't see how there would be ANY way to get a spare tire in the well in the floor, unless the subwoofer is removed....
I had a flat tire not long ago and stowed the full-sized wheel and tire in the spare well no problem while I drove around on the orange donut spare. But I was considering doing the same as the OP. After ordering a set of tires recently, I thought about what would happen if I had a flat while on a trip and managed to drive 50 miles to the nearest small town with a full service gas station. If none of the big tire centers in a metropolitan area stock the right size tire, a service station in a small town sure isn't going to have it. Only thing I'm not sure about is the jack and tools are designed to fit inside that orange spare with the face down. Not sure of the fit with the tools and full sized wheel.
A closer look revealed that my space saver only fills the lower half of the wheel well in the boot. And I don't have a sub woofer, whatever that is.......My sound system is base line on my xf luxury. I don't think I'll have any issues fitting a full size wheel in there, but I may just measure it to be sure.
Don't worry about the jack, etc. Just put the rim face down on a towel or some other buffer and then place a duffle bag with the jack inside the rim. And if you don't have the staggered rims, it will fit.
I took some measurements and a full sized rim will fit into the wheel well easily. I'll just stow the tools in a bag as suggested and I replaced the paper thing sponge liner beneath the wheel with a more substantial piece of sponge/rubber. Now to source a wheel......

On my S-type (which had a matching full-size wheel), the spare tire was placed outside downward (meaning the side you normally see was placed downward), and the spare was tightened using the wing nut. You can do the same once you find a matching wheel.
