Safety Question - dropped bolt in engine

Hello,
I dropped a 1.5 inch bolt in my engine well. My 2009 XF Supercharged engine has a bottom cover. I have not been able to retrieve it with a magnet.
Any chance the bolt could get into a belt or moving part while I am driving?
Do I need to have the car towed to a mechanic to take the bottom cover off to get the loose bolt?
--I am not a mechanic--obviously!
Thanks for your advice!

Don’t fear. You are not the first to do this. It happens to all of us.
you don’t need to have your car towed. To retrieve the object you can just loosen the engine splash cover from underneath. There are many 10mm bolts which hold on the plastic cover. I have been able to drop down a side and just bounce the bolt out the gap or reach in and grab it depending on where it ends up.
I would say the chance of it getting into anything like a pulley are quite low, but the rattle would irritate me.
good luck.
