Satellite radio presets reset?
Hi -- just bought a 2010 XFR about a month ago---love it! One thing that has happened frequently however is that the Sirius satellite radio presets randomly reset! Out of the 3 pages of 8 presets, sometimes it's one page, sometimes two...has anyone else experienced this? I have not tested whether the AM/FM presets have the same issue. I am taking it in soon, but I was hoping to see if anyone else could shed some light/pointers that I can direct the tech to check.

Well--after going through the trouble of bringing the car to the dealership, the Jaguar service tech said that this morning, he was able to confirm that Jaguar is aware of this issue and does not currently have a fix for it. This was a bit frustrating since he acted like he had never heard of the problem for the past two weeks (which is why I arranged for an appointment!). So, I'm on standby w.r.t. getting a fix for it, and for some reason, don't really buy into the Jaguar service explanation. Let me know if you make any headway yourselves.
Thanks.
Thanks.

My Car was at the Dealer yesterday here in Alberta, Canada (oil change) and here is what they provided me with regard to the Presets (in writing):
Loss Of Presets (19 October 2009)
207000 Entertainment Systems
Concern: Customer complains that Satellite Radio is losing "User Presets" on XF & XK 10MY 5.0L (NA?SC) vehicles from VIN XF R47154 and XK B32753
Cause: When the vehicle system voltage is below 8.5 Volts at the SDARS unit under cranking conditions, the Satellite Radio is unable to transmit over MOST the "User Presets" to the HLFD (High Level Front Display) causing either loss of presets or some presets to be missing.
Action: If a customer complains of "Loss of Presets", check battery condition and charging system. Do not replace Satellite Radio units for "Loss of Presets". Reset the customer's presets and advise customer of selecting Satellite Radio prior to starting the vehicle.
Note: If the customer selects the ignition on with the Satellite Radio playing prior to cranking the vehicle, "Loss of Presets" should not occur. A service fix will be made available as soon as possible.
So basically, as I understand it, the Satellite Radio unit is in the trunk and has to transmit information to the Display Screen in the car - the problem is that it doesn't do it if the electrical power is also required to start the car. So if we turn on the Satellite Radio without starting the car it should work OK. They are working on a permanent fix which will likely involve installation of a capacitor or some such thing.
The Dealer was very helpful and they are going to advise me as soon as a fix is in place.

Hello all -- I went in to have some diagnostics performed on my battery (a glitch that caused my car to stall -- probably caused by a loose terminal connection...) and was informed that Jaguar just released a fix for the erased preset problem. I was told they performed some sort of a software update.
We'll see if there are any more issues, but at least it seems like there was an official fix released from Jaguar.
