Hi guys. Had my XFR for a day and as soon as I got in the passenger seat (letting someone else drive), I noticed this..
The car still has 15 months of factory warranty left. I can't imagine this was caused by the previous owner - why would they remove the dials? Long gone are the days of removing speedos to alter mileage... right ? Maybe there was some warranty work on it, or a manufacturing defect?
I know it's a bit **** of me, but if this was a watch, I'd complain..
What do you think? Price up a replacement part and attempt to polish myself, then replace the part if I make a mess? Or let the dealer sort it?

It is possible to remove the instrument cluster and then the lens yourself, you need the Workshop Manual instructions and/or access to Topix, a range of screwdrivers (mainly Torx),and a set of plastic trim removal tools.
In my copy of the 2010/2011 XFR Workshop Manual the cluster and lens removal instructions are on pages 1807 to 1813.
Seeing as yours is a MY2014 you can't get a PDF copy of the Workshop Manual (they stopped with MY2011) but you should be able to get the instructions you need from Topix. Maybe, just maybe, the procedures are the same across 2009 - 2015 MYs, in which case the 2010/2011 Workshop Manual instructions can be used for this job.
To get a copy go here: Jaguar XF XFR X250 Workshop Manual
then select the last/bottom listing.

A slightly different scenario than mine, but it may give an indication of cost, timelines and dealer cooperation, or rather lack thereof.
