Default Scratch the leather glove box

My friend managed to scratch the gray leather on the glove box door on my either wise flawless interior. I guess it was his backpack. These things happen but of course it bothers me. The leather is not torn, but you can see a thin line (2 or 3 inches) that has the leather somewhat bunched up. A new door is $650 without the install....wow! Any suggestions to try to fix it Thanks all.

Most auto upholstery shops also do leather and vinyl repairs for a reasonable price (I think the XF glove box is vinyl not leather), just contact some and get some quotes. It might be best to take a couple of pics of the damage and send them to the shop(s), plus your interior trim code so they know the colour they need to match to.
