Default Second Year Service

Hi guys. I have a 2013 V6 supercharged XF. It has 18,000 miles and needs service. Looking at the manual the only actual work to be done is an oil change and tire rotation. Everything else is check this and check that. I was wondering what type of pricing you have gotten for this service from the dealer. I'm sure the dealers consider this an extensive (and probably) expensive service, to me it looks like an oil change and hunt for warrantee work.

Isn't maintenance covered under your original warranty?

My '13 XF had only 1st year's scheduled maintenance free. After that it's on you.

Dropped mine off today and was told it would be $520, I think the labor is $110/hr or something along those lines.

My '12 is due this August for it's 3rd free oil/filter change..Can't believe how time is creeping up on this car..I've checked with my dealer's service tech (I've known him since he worked on my 03 X-type, starting in 04) and he said when it comes time for me to do my own oil changes, that I can drop the underbelly skid panels and there is an oil pan drain plug to drain the oil from..I won't need a fandangled vacuum sucker like they use.

PS: at this time, I'm having the Coolant changed and the Brake fluid purged too.

I just had my car serviced at Alpine Jaguar in Fort Lauderdale. They did an oil change and 21 point inspection for $167.00 including Tax. I was in and out in an hour and they did a nice job washing the car. I know dealers get a lot of grief but I was very happy with the way both myself and the car was treated.

Good to hear...I know there is a lot of great Dealerships/service depts..that want to keep you in the family...especially if you're a prospective new car buyer in the future.

Is there a way to find out when my XF is due for service? It's a 2012. I remember last year, I got a display telling me that service was required but nothing so far this year.

Diablo,

I don't know about other service departments, but Brown's Jaguar in Richmond, VA has a page on their website where you can put in the year/model/mileage of your vehicle and it will show you what the service schedule is and how much for each service up to 100k miles.

I wait for the "Service Due Notice" to start appearing on my DIC...(I know that doesn't sound right) it should pop up when Mileage or the Year is about up, whichever comes first. (I know that didn't sound right either)

One year is the minimum interval. Pre 2012 (not sure when it changed) the maximum service interval was 10,000 miles and after that it went up to 15,000 miles.
