Sirius XM sound question

So my 2014 XF that I recently picked up used has the Sirius XM unit on trial.
I like the convenience of Sirius XM, but the sound is more garbled and tinny that on other Sirius XM systems I have heard in rental cards or in my wife's Acura.
Anybody know why Sirius XM in the Jaguar XF series sounds this way, and if anything can be done about it? I know Sirius XM is low resolution (64 bit AAC-HE was mentioned in one thread); but this system sounds bad compared to the relatively low threshold already set by Sirius XM. But I do like the programming (especially channel 28).
Thanks.
