No. It's a skill and if you don't do it often the results will be poor. The crack is really just in the clear coat but everything is very thin and easy to damage.
If you just want to get rid of the wood you could sand and paint them maybe piano black?
Jaguar uses Madera for the factory repairs.
I have used them several times and their work is excellant.

That piano veneer piece under the shifter is by far the most difficult if the veneer pieces to remove and seems to be the one to always crack. My 09 has a crack in the piano veneer as well. The problem with replacement pieces is that you'll need to find one that's the same pattern as the rest of the pieces which is almost impossible. It's why jaguar always replaces these as a set.
Your best bet is to remove the piece and have it refinished. Or just replace all the pieces.

Compared to new wood pieces I have found it much cheaper to get my original but cracked wood refinished by Madera. I have done both dash board pieces and the shifter surround so far on my 2005 STR.
As was noted below removing these wood panels is a danger because I added a few more cracks when I removed mine. No problem since I was getting them refinished anyway but no point in risking damage if you don't need to.
Talking to Madera anytime you have coated wood veneer you can count on at least some cracking eventually because of sun and age.
I did notice that even just redoing the clear can and does change the color of the wood. Maybe it's just the difference in age between the pieces?
