Default Small lighting mod, BIG benefit.

We all know the XF has a nice truck that just happens to be lit like the Grand canyon at night, so I bought a set of these,

I just spliced them into the trunk lights wiring and stuck them to the exposed metal in the trunk and WOW, I now have this in my trunk at night.

No more Grand Canyon in the dark!..lol

I was thinking about doing that in my XF and X-Type. Good to see the outcome. I see another project in my future!

For those who want much better trunk/boot lighting but are put off by splicing wires:
2pcs HID White 24COB LED Panel Light for Car Interior Door Trunk Map Dome | eBay
I fitted one of these a few months ago, works really well, plug & play with no splicing, just peel & stick to the exposed metal near the existing light, and as you can see they are cheap as chips.

Yep, you can forgo the splicing if you just want to use one light with the bulb adaptor and eliminate the stock bulb. I actually soldered the 2 LED banks together and spliced in them in to keep the stock bulb which I had already converted to LED.

It's an easy mod, and it's great to be able to see all the way into the trunk after dark.
