Well, time has come to set sail from Jaguar Land, and after 16 years and three lovely Jaguars (2006 X-Type, 2008 S-Type 4.2 V8, and 2015 XF 3.0 AWD, I've cast off for Lexus harbour.
It was a pure adventure of excitement and pain. The joy of driving three different lovely cars, and the pain of service and repair.
I've known for a while that the XF would be last, since Jaguar has stopped making CARS!, I just didn't know when.
My answer came when I found a Lexus IS 350 F Sport with a stonk'n big naturally aspirated V6 and AWD. The deal was made simpler buy the fact that Lexus is going hybrid and this may be the last year for the V6.
So, thanks for all the fun, and I wish you all great success to keep owning your Jaguars.
And keep the faith with ICE cars!
Cheers

Me too, well sorta. Mainly just felt like buying a "brand new" vehicle for a change, but yes, same concerns with Jaguar. Had to stop at a dealer 950 miles from home last year for help and that dealer is now gone, along with the two that were closest to me. The XF is right now my newest vehicle and its approaching the age where the XJ8 started to come unraveled. Its taken a lot of work over the last seven years and I need to get on with the Lotus next. I already have a bunch of old cars, mostly insured as antiques with limited usage, but I feel like I need to have something that I don't have to work on for at least the next five years; something that I could hop in and drive across country on a moments notice without any concern (like if I needed to go inspect the next classic dream car from my wish list on BaT), So I have a new 2024 Mustang on order.
But I'm not bailing out on Jaguar. I'm going to keep at least one of the Jaguar sedans, maybe both, and I want to buy an XK8 coupe too (yes, I know, its a mental problem, I need counseling). Problem is I'm going to be officially out of indoor storage space when the new car arrives and something will have to go outside. I had planned to move out into the countryside and build a barndominium when I retire, but that's still a few years away so I'm looking into temporary storage solutions. But you don't have to give up on Jaguar, just ADD the Lexus or Mercedes or whatever. Where there is a will, there is a way.
