Default steering column memory sometimes forgets to return to preset?

I have a '13 XFR, and I have my personal seating and steering column positions saved to preset 1. When I exit the car, the steering column moves up as expected. Most of the time, when I get back in and start the car, the steering column returns to my preset 1 position. Sometimes however, the steering column stays up (even though I have not touched the steering column position setting or seat setting). When this occurs, even if I press and hold the preset 1 button, the steering column doesn't move. If I manually move the steering column for a split second, then press and hold preset 1, the steering column then returns to the correct position. Has anyone experienced this issue?

And yes, I have my steering column setting set to Auto (not manual).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

That has happened to me a couple of times. When the car sat for a few days not being started is when it happened. Now I leave my car on a battery tender when I'm not going to use it for a few days and this phenomenon has stopped.

hmmm, ok. this is my daily driver, and it's brand new, so i don't think the battery is an issue.

Check if this happens only when your door is open when you start your car.

I have had this happen on my 2012 XFR and only if the door was open when I started the car it will not go to its preset position.

In my case, when I stop somewhere and restart it works fine, assuming my door is closed...
Or I quickly press preset 2 then press preset 1, and it will go back to where the preset mandates.

Good to know. I guess my incident was just a coincident.
