Default Steering Wheel

I am thinking about purchasing a new steering wheel for my 2011 premium XF. The steering wheel on the car has a very thin, non-contoured rim, and just doesn't feel that sporty in my hands. Does anyone have information on the different factory steering wheels available? Are the XFR, XKR, or XJ wheels any better? I have found a couple on ebay for a, shockingly, reasonable price. Will these all be plug and play? In the end, are they any different? Thanks for the input.

The Parts Catalogue lists four Steering Wheel changes with VIN for the XF range. Below this are heated/non heated options and all the different trim colours.

The XK range has a similarly lengthy list of Steering Wheels.

That being said, they will most likely all physically fit any vehicle in the two model ranges.

I've measured the rim on my XK8 to give you an idea of whether XK is any thicker than XF. The rim itself is shaped like a letter O with dimensions 30mm x 35mm.

If this is thicker than the XF and you decide to go ahead with one of the examples you have found, great care must be taken when removing and refitting the Airbag to avoid accidental deployment.

Thanks for the information. I will continue to research this and post my findings. If I go forward, I will have the dealer do the installation. I am extremely conformable working on cars, but this is one project I have no interest in tackling myself due to the consequences of a lapse in judgment.

Without measuring I feel the steering wheel in my XF is the same thickness as my XKR-S. As forfactory steering wheels I find them fairly thick compared to say stock Porsche wheels and they offer a thicker wheel than standard as well as an option.

Interesting. You may have a different steering wheel. The steering wheels on my Q7 and old A4 are thicker and sportier feeling than my Jaguar. Not a big deal at the end of the day on an otherwise great car, but if I can find an OEM replacement that meets my needs I would like to do so.

Again I am not near my car, sitting at work, and I do not know if the the XF SC comes with a thicker wheel standard or not but the wheels I have in my two Jags are defintely thicker than anything I had in my P cars and in my 2010 A5.
