Default Super Charger Porting

Bought a "good" used 3.0 supercharger today for $150 bucks ( including intercoolers, not a bad deal I think) . Pulled from a 45k mile car. Going to check the bearings, change the oil, add a new version Eaton solid coupler and install.

While it's off the car, I am going to look to see if it could benefit from porting. I have done this a few times on turbos and heads and headers for Saabs so we will see what's what.

Anyone ported the Eaton on these cars before? I think if flow could be increased 10-20% it could increase low-end torque. I don't think it would increase over HP since boost pressure would remain unchanged. Some think porting reduces charge air temps and that is a value too, but I think a road car where you may pull WOT once and a while not successive runs or a dyno monster that is not much of a difference

There have been rather negative statements about such porting if you look in the S-Type forum.

Yeah I saw those, different charger tho... I was told the TVS does not have much to work on (by a guy who does race ready work) that the TVS flows very nicely, jsut cleaning the casting marks and a few radiusing areas I will take a look when it gets here and decide.

I'll be very interested to see any results - I've often thought about whether it's worth doing this - I've read it's a popular mod on cars like the CTS-V and the Mustangs, and what I'd consider to be enough information to suggest it's at least worth investigating. I guess the biggest concern would be around how much material there actually is to remove - especially with the inlet so close to the snout - but that doesn't appear to have stopped (e.g.) CTS-V owners who also have a front-inlet s/c.

The Guy I was talking with who would do it is at thehighspeedlab.com He was very knowledgeable and informative and told me the TVS not much could be done or would be worth it. (good to hear that from someone who makes money doing the work) There is not much clearance on the inlet side and woudl no make much difference (said it matches max flow pretty nicely). I talked with Stuart at VAP and he said the only issue with their tune would be if a larger throttle body was installed, I was not thinking of going that way.
