Default Thank you for the help but I am leaving the Jag community for now

Thank you everyone for being pretty decent and discussing your cars in a relatively gentlemanly fashion (with one or two exceptions which have proved to be the exception rather than the rule - modifying the appearance of the XF seems to cause some quite vociferous comments). However I am leaving the Jag fold for now.

I have just sold my 2010 XF Premium in silver for a very good price ($34K) after a long debate with myself about keeping the car. However a fairly minor issue whereby the dash board started to bulge possibly due to heat problems made the decision for me and I decide to sell her. Loved the car and it is certainly one of the best looking out there.

Moving back to BMW for the present. May be back later, but again thank you for all the help given to me while I owned the car and wish you all well with your big cats....

Whiteby,

Make sure to drop by once and while. And, pictures of the Bimmer are a must. Did you already get the car? What model?

Good luck Whitby - what BMW have you gone for? I must say, BMW are as far from tempting me as a customer with their product offering than they have been in a while - certainly as a new car anyway.

BMW 528i MSport in Space Grey. I have had a number of BMWs in the past and have always liked their driving ability. The XF is certainly a better looking car than any of the BMWs, save perhaps for the 6 Gran Coupe, however the Gran Coupe is well out of my price range.

I needed a car with better mileage. I was getting about 22 to 23 mpg from the XF on my daily office commute. The 528 gets about 30 to 32 mpg and my journey time is slightly less on average.

Once Jaguar have more efficient engines in the line up I will be back. However the build quality on my 2010 XF was nothing like as good as the 2012 528i and, as I said above, the fuel costs were a little on the high side. I think the 2012 XFs I drove were certainly better put together but they still had that thirsty V8 on board.

WhitbyXF - Sorry to hear you've sold the Jag and decided to move on, but thats life I guess.

Hope the Bmw treats you well.........please feel free to return and post a pic or two in the "Non Jaguar vehicles" section and show her off a little!

You've been a good member to have around and I do hope you've enjoyed your time here.
Please remember, Jag owner or not, you're always welcome here and hopefully you still drop by for the craic sometimes.

All my best

If you're not a forum member of Bimmerfest, you should consider monitoring that forum. It is probably the best out there for BMW owners. I walked away from a 550ix I ordered and bought a Jag instead. I found that forum to be quite helpful. Best of luck.

Thanks for the tip. I have been a member of the Bimmerfest forum for some time, as we have owned a BMW Z4 3.0Si Coupe since 2006. I will miss you guys....

Thanks for the picture.I guess saying Congratulations would be appropriate.

The car looks nice with the M sport package. The F10 5 series is one of my favortie saloons Bavarian Motor Works produced since the E39 5 series.

WhitbyXF,

Sorry to hear you've sold the XF and decided to downgrade.

Hope the BMW work out OK and maybe we'll see you back with another Jaguar one day.

Much appreciated. The F10 is indeed proving to be a great car to drive. Somewhat tauter than my XF Premium. I would guess that the XF SC would be closer in handling, but far superior in power. However the XF SC was way outside what I was willing to pay at this time and certainly over my fuel consumption desires. It is a pity that Jag do not have a sports handling package for the non SC cars.

Enjoy the new 5-series. BMW is making some gorgeous cars. Just took mine into the dealer for service yesterday and saw a new 2012 6-series sedan. It was one of the most beautiful cars I think I've ever seen. Out of my price range ($90k) but simply jaw-dropping.

Hope you get a chance to see my new XF since you were such an important font of information to me when I was purchasing it.

We will truly miss you. I think it's only fitting to say...

"Cheers,"
