Top speed in the mile

You have to turn on dynamic mode, turn DSC off as much as it allows you to, do like 1/3 to 1/2 throttle and then after grip is there floor it. If you leave any DSC on you will not even break 150mph. You obviously cannot just floor it with 500 lbs of torque but that is always true not just on a standing mile.

When running against my buddy's GT500, I tried some different combinations of traction control and Trac-DSC was not only easy, but provided better/quicker launches than either full on or off with no chance of blowing a run with wheelspin. I would consistently beat him or tie (I never lost in a bunch of standing runs) and was always out front until his weight/power advantage would kick in when in higher gears.
So I would definitely try Trac-DSC first and then try full off after to see if there is a difference.

Good to know...will probably turn everything off first pass and see where she goes! Depending on the number of runs I will see what happens with the different modes. For now I am looking for fastest Jaguar at the mile. Hoping to crack 170 but the drag computer showing 168.50.

I got 240km/h ( 149mph ) with my 1999 XJR with some mods three years ago. Stock 4.0 XJR goes 225km/h ( 140mph ). Stock XFR with 510bhp should go around 260km/h ( 161-162mph ), which was my XJR target 2013, but some major mixture problems did not allow that. I hope my fully new engine gives range of 175-180mph. We had here stock 5.0 XKR with 510hp which have run 259km/h ( 161mph).

We were all very suspect about that video. The Audi should have had the jump at the start with AWD and launch control and no wheel spin on the XKR-S GT. Then the GT should have caught up and then the Audi pulled away at higher speeds.
Yes a standing start with a high torque car is difficult, that is the whole point!!!! So is launch a stick AWD without launch.
You need to practice, don't just show up as if this is your first time. There is more to driving than flooring it. Go to a open practice day at the drag strip and learn to launch. Jesus, if you learned and passed your driving exam in an automatic what are you doing in a high performance car????
Watch every test video, they got the V8S down to 3.4 seconds 0-60 but it took some 30 launches to get it right and only with dynamic mode on and DSC as off as it goes, because you cannot completely disable it. If you leave it in track it will interfere not just at the start but at the very least during the first three gear shifts.
If you need training wheels or have never been over 150mph ... going to a standing mile event is pretty much a high pressure situation. Either you embarrass yourself because you cannot do it or get into a situation or you are not comfortable with. You know there will be "professional" teams with 1000hp GT40s and cars doing over 200mph ...

Well I'm here. Greeted by the police within minutes of arrival for no front license plate. Nice welcome. He did let me go with a verbal.
Then a massive pothole got the right side looks OK. Feels OK but I'm pissed never the less.
Track opens for runs at 815a. All live streamed if you care. First run has to be under 165 or you get sent home for the day. So i plan to lift above 155 if she gets there. Next runs can be to 199 but I'm shooting for 168.
Talked to the Mercedes dude with the E63.turns out it's a Renntech tuned AMG.
The Caddy guys are here in force. Hope i can make a brand statement!

EDIT: Sorry, I just realised that you have XFR-S , not just XFR....

Day1 results
4 hr wait in the morning. Temps were around 79 with 5 mi winds. Had to qualify first. Ran 142 in the 1/2mi and saw 160 but braked to qualify so came thru at 151.
Next run was 4 hrs later and wind was up to 17 and temps got to 89.
Ran 140.6 in the 1/2mi and 163.6 in the mile. This was with trac dsc dynamic sport. Spins hard off the line here.
Tomorrow I will put dsc back on and see if in fact the car slows down.

140.6 to 163.6. Qualifying run was 142 in the 1/2

I was expecting 265-268km/h ( 164-166mph ) , but if you get cooler IAT in the morning hours and tailwind/no wind...sounds like you are there. That's what stock power can give you. I don't belive that the radar was well calibrated for the XKR-S run with 176mph. Stock power is just not enough for that.

I saw your RS yesterday, it looks fantastic blacked out! You weren't in the car either time I passed by it. There was a 458 2 rows from you, he waited 7 hours to run and wasn't very happy about it. I don't understand why the long wait between runs, if managed properly they could have gotten 3 times the cars through.?. I wonder what you will run without that headwind today?
