TPMS Fault
Got a TPMS fault warning yesterday. I checked the tires and 3 were 4 psi low and one was 6 psi low. Guess I have to check them more often. (Actually, I'm betting they weren't right when they left the dealer.)
Anyway, brought them up to spec and checked them again when cold this morning (door sticker says to use 34 psi all around). All good, no leaks.
But the fault light came on again. I checked pressures again after a few miles, and tires are good (a couple psi higher due to them warming up, but no leaks). But the fault light won't go off. It also says "system fault" or something like that, instead of a pictogram showing which if any tire is low. Is there a re-set button somewhere or some other relearn/resetting sequence I'm missing or not doing right?
In my BMW, there was a "learn" button that had to be pressed after re-filling the tires or changing pressures. Is there anything like that in the XFR? If there is, I can't find it either in the touch screen menu or any hard buttons.

Sounds like the TPMS has temporarily lost its frame of reference. There is no driver selectable re-set. The dealer can do this, apparently. I know that the TPMS can take a few miles to recalibrate itself after being triggered. However, on my '09 base car the TPMS has worked correctly if only notifying me that the TPMS valve stem was defective on two occasions! I have not so far had it indicate low pressure due to puncture damage or air loss, only to tell me the TPMS itself was leaking air.

That is my understanding. If a tire goes out of spec the computer has to learn that it has been restored. It does so by comparing the one tire to the other three. I think if all tires (or maybe 3 of 4) go out of spec it takes longer for the computer to know they are back in.
There is a radio in each TPMS sensor to tell the ECU which corner of the car each TPMS is located at.

Your system seem to reacting slowly. Maybe you have a weak battery in one of the sending units. About month after I purchased my car, I got a nail in my LR tire. Never noticed that the tire was low while she was parked. I went to go take a road trip and the displayed said low pressure. Sure enough, A nail. I took the tire off and got it repaired. I reinstalled it. Started the car, Center display said "reset" and went back to normal. Never had a problem since.

It takes the 315MHz sensors. They are a ford unit I believe. They have a newer one - the old ones had an issue with the valve stem becoming brittle and breaking, so they have a redesigned version.
In terms of taking time to register the wheel change or tyre pressure adjustment, that's not unusual. When I have my winter tyres switched onto the car it can take a couple of days for the TPMS to reset. The owners manual says:

TPMS random fault
Hi all... I have never posted on these places before but feel compelled to do so...
My XKR 2011 had this problem of the tyre pressure fault indicators coming on randomly and having established that the pressure are all ok I came online to see what others had experienced... astonished to see so many people with Jags and Range Rover have experienced the same problem... and furthermore no one seemed to have a definite solution. Some seemed to have spent huge sums with Jaguar replacing sensors..
Being an engineer I was very frustrated and this is what I now know:
each trye has its own sensor that has a battery.. yes it is possible they have a finite lifespan.. but when you get the problem of all 4 showing randomly ... not convinced... there is a receiver/ ariel under the rear parcel shelf (also in soft top like mine) yes it could be that..
or the main circuit board sound expensive I think some I read had indeed changed this..
in the end I went to a small independent Jaguar specialist near Netley/Hamble Hampshire... they said the car may need a software update but found the sw was all OK
They asked me if I checked the tyre pressure with the engine running? No why would I? they asked if I checked them with the ignition on? No why would I.. well
it seems you have to do that otherwise the software gets its datums confused.. They said they let the tyres down very low one by one (with the engine running) and re pressurised and it cleared the fault..
My car has been a pleasure to drive ever since.... its been about 2 months and since I dont drive it every day I waited to post I hope this helps

After 2+ years of misery, and neither the dealers nor I being able to figure out what the hell the problem was, I FINALLY solved my intermittent TPMS Fault issues permanently. When installing new wheels on my wife's Rover Sport, I had to put her original TPMS sensors on them, and noticed the sensors said FoMoCo on them (obviously Ford Motor Company), and I knew ours had to be the same, so I checked the Ford forums for TPMS issues. Voila - a lot of Ford owners were having the same issues, and they'd traced it to certain USB chargers. Sure enough, the USB charger I was using for my phone in my center console was somehow interfering with the TPMS signal transmission, as the TPMS receiver sits very close underneath the cigarette lighter/charger in the center console of our cars. I replaced the USB charger with a new one, and it's been 2 months without a single TPMS warning light. Hallelujah!!!

Similar issue 2013 XKR. Problem started with a seemingly random series of low pressure alerts. Dealer updated software. Problem continues. Different dealer. New update. Problem continued. Back to dealer. Reset system. About a week later I got a different alert: TPMS system failure. Back to dealer. They installed a new front right sensor (per instructions from Jaguar as this sensor was somehow a link to the other sensors). Problem recurred about a week later(system failure). Back to dealer. Found a nail in tire (note: with the nail I never got a single tire low pressure alert, just a TPMS system failure.) Back to dealer. Tire patched system reset. About a week later I again get TPMS System failure. What next????? Help???

Pull the codes on code reader. It can tell you which sensor is causing the system error. Then reset them all and drive it again. When you get the error read the codes again. If it's repeatedly the same wheel then could be a bad /failing sensor in that wheel. If it's several different wheels then could be system or several sensors
Are they OEM sensors or aftermarket. The XF seems very sensitive to aftermarket ones that are meant to be compatible / creates an intermittent error like you observe. Cure is to go back to OEM sensors

Old thread, but has anyone tried this with success???
--Inflate all tires to 3 PSI over the recommended amount, then deflate them completely. Once they’re all deflated, re-inflate to the recommended tire pressure. If you are using a spare tire, it may have a sensor as well so be sure to do the same with that one.
Pulled this from a Jaguar Dealer website as a recommendation. My light doesn't blink, the dash lights up in Amber saying Tire System Monitoring Fault, and the dash light stays lit up. It doesn't blink.

When I had TPMS warnings I tried the inflation/deflation suggestion. It didn't solve the problem of random warnings. I had new sensors a couple of years ago so figured they were OK.
It transpired that it was the TPMS module under the front right seat that was faulty. I fitted a new one about 6 weeks ago and it's been perfect ever since.
P.S. It's not necessary to remove the seat from the car, just unbolt it and tilt it back then hold it in place with a bar or something from the floor to the underside of the seat.
Now, here is the important issue. Neither my Jaguar SDD, nor my Autel MOT Pro found any fault codes whatsoever. That's why it's sometimes difficult to find the problem.
Hope that info helps some of you.

I just bought a charger with a holder that plugs into my cigarette lighter! This has to be the reason I just got the error show up. I suspected it was the culprit n
but couldn’t reason why this could cause an issue. It seemed totally unrelated but your explanation makes perfect sense now. Thank you!

Apparently, some phone chargers and other USB devices have bad electrical shielding and they emit signals which interfere with the reception of the TPMS signals from the tires to the receiver (which sits immediately under the center elbow console in XFs, so only a few inches from the interfering USB charger, etc.), much the same way microwaves and other devices can interfere with wireless home phone signals. Once I swapped USB phone chargers, I never had issues with TPMS again.

For information to the group;
I received a TPMS Fault on my 2017 F Type Premium... no Jaguar Dealers within 300 miles of my home. Called a local European Auto repair center and he advised me to take it down to Discount Tires. Once at discount tires the scanned all four sensors in the wheels to make sure they were communicating and then checked obd2 receiver of the TPMS System and he could not get the receiver to communicate and attach the 4 sensors.
he was able to scan all 4 sensors a second time and the obd2 message said to drive it for 10 minutes at a speed over 15 mph and it should reset itself and start functioning correctly.
My drive home was 15 miles and about 10 minutes into my trip home the fault cleared and I was now able to see the pressures in all 4 tires.
I asked the tech what I owed him and he said “no charge bud just get your next set of tires from us”
