TPMS Replacement - SE53001 or SE53004?
I'm in the process of replacing my tires and having my OEM wheels professionally refinished and while they are "in there" I'd like to replace the now five year old TPMS sensor assemblies. The replacement TPMS sensor options are numerous and I have honed in on either the VDO SE53001 or SE53004, both are 315MHz sensors, for my 2012 XF. These are available for about $50 each from a variety of online sources. Any recommendations on sensors for this application? Thanks!

Are those aftermarket tpms sensors or OEM? I would strongly suggest OEM. I put aftermarket on my summer wheels and they work maybe 80pc of the time and give a system error the other 20pc of the time. Whereas the OEM ones on the winter wheels are perfect. Dealer says it's a common issue. Solution is to switch them all out for OEM ones...
Some people have had the aftermarket work perfectly, others have issues like me

Update - some additional searching shows that part # BH52-1A159-CA appears to be compatible with the US spec 2012 XF. They can be bought on ebay from UK sellers for under $150 per set.

Prices and part numbers for TPMS sensors for the XF are all over the map! I purchased the set shown above and will report back in a few weeks once they arrive and are installed. TPMS.com shows part number BH52-1A159-CA as compatible with the 2012 XF even though the sellers site does not.

UPDATE - the TPMS set I purchased on ebay did work normally on my 2012 XF. Tire shop replaced the TPMS with the new ones shown below and I installed the wheels / tires and at no point afterwards did I get any TPMS warnings or problems. Just drove the car as normal a bit most days. Also, installed 245/45R19 Conti's all around without rubbing:

Appreciate the update - that's good to hear. I've not installed mine yet as the tyre shop wanted nearly $200 just to swap the new sensors on. So I figured I'll wait until a tyre change. For now the old ones are fine - I get that error about once every few weeks and it goes away after a while
