Default Trac DSC in XF/XJ/XK and all R models

I am not sure how many of you guys know, but in order to completely turn off the stability control, you have to hold the DSC or Traction control button for a very long 10 seconds.

If you JUST press it, the button will illuminate saying DSC Trac off, but it doesn't completely remove the aid.

I found this out only a few days, thought i would share.

I can't recall, do you need to be in Sport or Dynamic mode to do it? Or, does it work regardless of these settings?

It works regardless of the mode.

On the supercharged models traction is automatically partially-disabled when you press the dynamic mode button. Basically, it taps the traction button so you don't have to. This does not happen on the 4.2L or 5.0L non supercharged cars. I'm not sure about the XFR but I'd imagine it's the same as the supercharged.

It may be more significant on the SC/XFR models, but on my 2012 NA 5 liter, i can definitely feel with the Dynamic mode engaged, the tires loose grip easier. It's not a significant amount, but noticeable.

Yeah, in dynamic mode my XFR gives a bit of slip without cutting any power
