transmisson fault / misfires

First off, I love the XF. But, I had a recent transmission fault issue that has me worried. I was stuck in R because and watched in pain as the tow truck pulled the car (in gear) backwards onto the flatbead. I'm not sure how they got it off. The tow truck driver mentioned shaking off a previous XF towed in for the same problem.
Jaguar assistance was great at keeping me up to date. The dealer ordered a new transmission control unit and replaced the shift selector.
I picked the car up and drove a few miles. It sounded rough and the transmission light was on. I turned around and returned the care to the dealer.
The dealer fixed a leak in the transmission and told me the check engine light was also on. They now want me to pay $200 for a fuel service cleaning - something to do with 10% ethanol in fuel clogged 3 sprayers and that the car misfires.
Is this random or related?

Thanks Le Chef. This experience has been more than a nuisance. I let the deal know it and they are submitting the check engine light to warranty. Incidentally, I use Shell Premium fuel and will be more than irked if ethanol in fuel is an issue. Form what I've read, there isn't a additive or solution for ethanol and I'm not going to fill up my car at a marina.
Jaguar doesn't have a single transmission control unit the USA is proof that the problem is widespread. I waited ten days for the TCU to arrive from the UK. Call 800 4 Jaguar for a free tow.
The transmission fault issue XF owners should know about. If your Jag XF sticks in gear get it fixed asap. Mine stuck a few times and I wasn't concerned because it reset. If your shifter get very hot have it looked at. If your so inclined, learn how to manually disengage the shifter to neutral. If your stuck. Call 800 4Jaguar for a free tow.
