Trunk won’t open

Trunk won’t open
Trunk won’t open, any ideas of which module I need? Jaguar told me the module needs replacement. They also told me the module itself would cost €1000. Any tips on which module I have to buy and how to replace it? I think it must be the rear body control module but I’m not sure which number I need.
Thanks already!

Good to have you with us.
Did Jaguar do this diagnosis with the benefit of a diagnostics session or guesswork? I agree with John a harness break is a possible cause as is a faulty lid latch which is under €150.

I think it was just a “guess”. The trunk does still open with the emergency key but not with the remote, de button inside or the button on the trunk itself.
Do the wires inside the trunk break more often?
BTW, thanks already for your help!!

Hi,
Was this ever resolved? I also have 2012 XF the facelift with trunk soft close. Latch will only open manually with key. I took a chance and got a new latch but no joy. Checked the harness between boot-lid and car for any wire breaks and continuity was all good. Does anyone know where the relay is for opening the boot on this model?
