Default Tsb jtb00317nas1

I am having an issue with my Jag recognizing the new TPM sensors, and I am getting the dreaded TPMS error message. I found this TSB online: "TSB JTB00317NAS1" It indicates "Tire Pressure Monitoring System Control Module Reset Issue"

Is there any way of getting further information or determining what issue this TSB is addressing?

Thanks!

I remember coming across an issue in the past with programming the TPMS or even updating the software, and you had to remove a fuse before starting the update, then put it back after, but not sure if that applies to this bulletin.

Can you give me the last 8 of your VIN that way I can look it up on the system?

It is.

Signature amendments appear with your NEXT post - NOT immediately.

Thanks for clarifying. In that case you're in the wrong forum section. X260 is the new XF model. Yours is the previous X250 model. Maybe the mods can move it over.

Also wonder if we could get the sections renamed to add in the model year too? Lots of people posting in X260 with questions on the previous XF model. It's not well known what X250 and X260 mean.

I've moved your thread from X260 to X250 forum. I should have noticed the MY when I posted here earlier.

The model years already appear in the forum names:

There is no way of making it any more prominent within forum design limits.

Thanks graham. I use the GarageTalk app and don't see the model years. They are called
XF (X260)
XF & XFR (X250)

Maybe the way the app is designed but I can see how it causes confusion

the fuse pull was for ecu programming in the XJ only as it would erase the service reminder data and turn on the reminder. the bulleting youre probably thinking of is for new software into the tpms module. This is primarily for scrolling warning from each tire when psi is correct. usually the fault message is for a fault like a sensor, receiver, module. my experience with the software is many times the issue returns and the module needs to be replaced leading to problems with fix right first time survey. soooo I would see what the codes in the module are and why the fault light is on

Tire Pressure Monitoring System Control Module Reset Issue

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
Model:Model Year:VIN:XF (X250)2009-2012
R00019-S39426
XK Range (X150)2007-2012
B00379-B47482

MARKETS:
NAS

CONDITION SUMMARY:

Situation:

The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) may intermittently display a low pressure warning in the Instrument Cluster (IC). Upon checking the vehicle's tire pressures, all are found to be within specification with no low pressures found. Additionally, there are no TPMS Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) stored as there are no faults within the TPMS.
Cause:

This may be caused by a software issue in the Tire Pressure Monitoring System Control Module (TPMSCM).

Looking at the bulletin, its relating to a software update. You'll need to have someone with SDD to check codes to make sure you don't have a fault somewhere else in the system. The TPMS can be sensitive, if you've had tires recently changed and the tire changer isn't paying attention to the sensor could cause damage, etc. From my own experience I've seen most issues with the sensors in the wheels themselves be the issue.

As Brutal and I mentioned, get the codes checked first and go from there.
