Default USB / mp3 files

Evening

I have converted some audio from U Tube Video's to MP3 format and saved onto a USB memory stick.

When I plug the stick into the USB port in my 2013 XF S I can see the files on the screen all correctly titled.

However, when I select the individual files on the touch screen top play nothing happens.

I'd welcome any advice please?

Thanks

Ferg

Is the memory stick formatted correctly? I think I remember someone saying it has to be in FAT32 format. If it's not, there are free programs that will format it into FAT32. Keep in mind that I'm not all that knowledgeable about that stuff, just "reposting" what I thought I remembered. It's easy to do a search on this forum or Google, though. Good luck.

I believe there is a thread about this and it has to do with the bitrate at which the mp3 files are encoded at. I had some issues with mine even seeing the files. I re-encoded the files at a lower bitrate and it was all good.

Can you copy regular MP3 files and see if they play correctly. If so it may be the conversion process or the Fat32 issue REAXIONS spoke on

It could be that you need to have an Apple application copy the music files onto the memory stick. I used Apple ITunes download and it works fine on my 2010 XF SC. It is only an assumption and I'm not really sure if that is your problem.

Dear ferg !

so far I found out the MP3 work well in the format:
MP3 44100Hz stereo 16Bit 128Kbps
And I use the AVS Audio Converter!

Hope this info is helpful !

Try 320K. That was the maximum bit rate for the Jaguar ACM.

I had the same problem. I use "aTube Catcher" to download the videos. Select the output before downloading them. If I have any MP3's that won't play I use "3herosoft Audio Encoder" to re-encode them and that fixes the problem.
