Default Very strange XF boot behaviour.

Hi there all, now I know the XF boot not opening thing has been flogged to death 😂 but I can’t find any threads similar to mine so my new to me XF boot opens on the key and on the button inside , I have replaced the wiring harness for the boot with a new one from the dealer but what’s strange about it is if my car is locked the boot will open from the button on the tailgate but if the car is unlocked it won’t . So obviously the switch is working as only 2 wires to it and if switched correctly when the car is locked but not unlocked can’t be switch related like wise by the amount of wires going into the latch itself all means of unlocking must use one signal wire . Just can’t get my head around it .

It could be the logic has become corrupted. Try a hard reset, i.e. remove the positive terminal from the battery and hold it to chassis ground for ten secs. Then reconnect and see if it operates normally.

is it not risky as it’s a facelift to screw up the locks as in lose the memory etc ?

You will have to reset windows etc.. I have not yet come across a car where this is harmfull, but give your local dealer workshop a call if in doubt.
