Default What color to paint my wheels

So I just bought a '12 jaguar xf portfolio with the sport pack. It is white and I'm getting the windows tinted to 20%

A - gloss black

B - semi gloss black

C - semi gloss grey.

I think yours are glossy. Your pc is 1 that helped me convince the wife to go black! Hanks

Seems like you have already made a decision. Black wheels are played out.

I'd leave it as it is. I'm not a fan of black rims, but it's your car so do what you want.

people talk about black rims being "played out" and i think that misses the point. its not about what everyone else is doing, its about how your own car looks and whether you like it or not. i don't think i'd put black rims on a car unless the car was white or black but on a white car, and on MY white car, the black rims are awesome IMHO.

every time i park it and walk away i have to look back and just admire how beautiful it is, and THAT my friends, is what it's all about. just my 2 cents.

I would leave them in silver, that's my view.

lol You don't have to have black wheels on your car to admire it.

Black wheels take away from any vehicle's silhouette

To each his own! But to me, the black wheels remind me of cars years ago that were missing their hubcaps. Any wheel on a car is "played out" after you drive the car around the block. I'm just an old school chrome geezer. It's chrome wheels for me, just looks more elegant.

Honestly it looks fine the way it is,
It color matches everything else with the car.

I powder coated my wheels gloss black and have been extremely happy with my decision every day since I did it.

I think a black wheel on a white car looks good with the rim remaining in silver (better if it was chrome or Stainless lip). You can go on the Coventry wheel site and get a feel for what that may look like in the simulator. i think the gray wheel (especially the Draco style) looks good on gray cars. The black and chrome oem grille also looks good on white cars. I also like machined wheels with black and machining to expose the silver metal. The car also looks good as is. Not a fan of all chrome (Do what you like).

Black wheels look their best on white cars IMO but can look stark without contrasting lips, windows and/or bolts. Just make sure you keep the tires armor all'd if you go black. I think someone here went with black factory wheels on their white XFR. Looked good as I recall. Grey would be a little different, but thre are a lot of shades of gray - I think a darker shade would give you more impact.

I'm leaning gloss black, I'm going to see if they can leave the inner part and lip silver.

They also recommended white but I'm not sure of that

Do what you want, regardless of what anyone else says. I love the fact that my car looks different than any other XF out there (except maybe a few times when I've wished my car wasn't as recognizable, so people didn't always know where I was). Anyway, I left my wheels on my '09 XFS stock, because it was silver. But, I knew when I bought a white car, I definitely wanted the contrast of black wheels, as well as various other accoutrements, i.e. carbon fiber front splitters, carbon fiber rear valance and diffuser, carbon fiber hood louvers, black Jag leaper on trunk, etc. I wasn't fond of white cars prior (great deal on my white car, though), but I really love the look of my car now, and get compliments on it almost daily. I would also do black wheels on a black car for sure, but I'm not sure about any other car colors. Again, do what you like; it's your car, you pay for it, and you drive it.

Not a fan personally...but, if you're gonna do something, this may be the best option...

Check out the "XFR Speed Pack Spoiler" thread. There are photos of a white car with the dark grey Draco wheels. Looks decent.
