Default What have I done?

Greetings all, new to the XF Group. Just purchased 2012 XF Portfolio (53,000 Mile) and trying to find my way around. I also have a 2007 XK 4.2 NA and I guess I was under a misguided impression that the 5.0 and 4.2 were quite similar in most respects. Now rather a bit late I suspect, I am doing my due diligence as well as chasing down some fiddly plastic bits. Am I in for a rude awakening? Be gentle please but tips and heads up requested.

The plastic bits I am chasing at this point are the grommet/s under the top engine tray that snap it down to the metal socket points (2/Ea I believe) and the expansion tank mounting piece (back side toward firewall) that somehow fastens the expansion tank to scuttle. I believe this is one of three attachment points. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I've moved your question from X260 (XF 2015 onwards) to X250 (XF 2007 - 2015) forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

Thanks Graham, sorry about that!
Well after exploring this forum and others it would appear the main significant concern is the potential timing chain issue. Hmm, didn't see that one coming! Even though dealer receipt shows oil and filter change prior to my purchase, I will perform another to get a feel for what the oil looks like and make sure I get quality oil in. I do hate the fact that without a dip stick, you cannot see what the oil actually looks like. Thanks also a difference over the 4.2.

Now for those couple of plastic bits, anyone have input I can use to source those?
Also, is the antifreeze required the same orange as used in today's Fords (Motorcraft)?

Robinus, Brilliant! Thanks a bunch, I have spent more time than I care to admit trying to find a workshop manual. I think I will start another post however to clarify the vacuum oil change location on the 2012 model. Is it the tube just inside the oil fill cap? It would appear that many years were different. Thanks again.

Yes all that has been answered multiple times. Some searchers will reveal what has been found out so far.

Yes it is the tube in the middle of the oil fill hole and always has been on all XFs with the 5.0 V8 (both NA and SC), 3.0 V6 SC and 3.0 diesel.
